The Battle of Mabitac (1901)

One of the most significant battles of the Philippine-American War took place in Mabitac on September 17, 1901. Filipino forces under General Juan Cailles successfully ambushed American troops, making it one of the few Filipino victories during the war. The battle is commemorated by a monument in the town center.
